Comcast Promotions
I have been living without cable TV or satellite TV for the past 5 years. Thanks to the advent of streaming video services like Hulu and Netflix, I saw little inclination to be tied down to long term obligations and hassles that are commonly associated with cable and satellite TV services. Things changed when I moved into a bigger house than I was living in. I got a sweet, 52 inch LED TV mounted on the wall and even though I had it hooked up to my home theater PC to stream movies and tv shows through Hulu and Netflix, I started mulling over having a cable TV service. This is when I started looking around to find the best Comcast promotions – Comcast is the only available cable company in my area – to get the most bang for my buck.
The reason why I – after 5 years of hiatus from cable TV service – decided to finally give into the evil grasps (hah!) of cable TV was simple. I wanted to host parties with my buddies and be able to play sports games on my giant new TV. For this reason, cable TV made the most sense so I decided to find how to the best deals through available Comcast promotions.
Now, being the penny pincher that I am, I planned everything through and executed my plan accordingly. I ended up saving 22 dollars off of what I would have paid for per month if I just called up Comcast and bought whatever they were offering. How did I find the Comcast promotions that allowed me to save that much money?
How I Saved $42.50 per month through Little Known Comcast Promotions
My first plan of attack was simple – look for deals online. However, the lady luck didn’t smile on me during my search as there were no current special Comcast promotions featured that looked attractive. A lot of the offers that I found online were resellers who really didn’t offer that much of a discount compare to even Comcast website. Undeterred, I pressed on to find the best Comcast promotions I could find for new customers.
I looked at the Comcast website and the best possible deal I could find for my area was $49.99 per months for 12 months (ECK!) plus HD DVR cable box rental which is $15 per month. The total would end up being $64.99 per months for 12 month contract. Now that is not the Comcast promotions I was willing to accept!
Calling Sales Rep to land Comcast Promotions
Next I decided to call Comcast and talk to the sales rep to see what I kind of deal I could get. After waiting on the phone for 10 minutes through awkward concoctions of “please hold” messages and elevator music, I got through to the sales rep. After haggling, begging, pleading, threatening for what seemed like an hour (it was really only 15 minutes and the lady on the other end was very patient through the whole process! Very impressed with Comcast’s customer service reps.), the final offer I received was this: $39.99 per month + $15 per month cable box rental for 12 months contract. Now, this was a whopping savings of $10 per month but I thought I could do better so I gently declined this offer and hung up. My quest to find the ultimate Comcast promotions continued.
Tips on How to REALLY find the Best Comcast Promotions
I got a tip from one of the deals forums I was browsing and someone suggested to go to Comcast’s website and talk to the sales rep through online chat. Genius! Why didn’t I think of that? So I quickly went over to Comcast website and landed on their chat support after furiously clicking through their website to find my Comcast promotions of lifetime.
After chatting nicely with the online sales rep and letting him know about my disappointment that I had negotiating with the phone sales rep, the nice gentleman offered me a deal that I knew couldn’t be beat. $29.99 per month + 50% off on HD DVR rental for 1 year. Beat that Comcast Sales Rep On The Phone! I was thrilled to know that he was also throwing in FREE HBO for 1 year. Game of Thrones, here I come! So the total ended up being $37.49 with FREE HBO (worth $15/month).
Grand savings by my little treasure hunt? Savings of $42.50!
So there you go – if you want the best Comcast promotions, go to the Comcast official website and negotiate with the sales rep through their support chat. I heard the reasoning why these folks are more willing to deal than the phone department is because they are outsourced to India, hence why they would be more willing to hand out awesome deals at lowered commissions for them.
